…but not on the same night, of course!
Thanks for the great bands and fans that came out last weekend, especially Sinsemelia and Two My Chagrin for choosing Sweetwater to perform their final shows ever – we will miss you both.
This Friday night brings some good friends back to the stage. Folk/country extraordinaire Drew Kohl teams up once again with funky singer/songwriter Woody Robbins for some acoustic jams, as well as a few songs from their full band. Afterwards is two stellar blues-influenced rock groups in Albatross and Johnny Awesome. An evening of young up-and-comers with truly old souls.
Saturday, raise your devil horns high as we welcome national metal act Vainglory, a thrash-inspired, female-fronted group that has received much favorable press. They will be debuting three new members, including Jerry Tharp, former lead man of 2009 Sweetwater Showdown finalist Victim 9. Local metal favorites The Bone Church and Vertically Challenged join the bill to make for a sick night of brutality.
On an important side note, please vote for reigning champs Sweetwater Bar and Grill as “Best OTP Music Club” in Creative Loafing’s 2011 Best Of Atlanta. It only takes a few minutes and would really mean the world to us to earn the title once again.
Thanks for all of your support!
