Debut of new Sweetwater website!

The new website is finally here, and we are excited to once again to have our WordPress blog, which means updated information on upcoming live music and bands, dart, poker and billiard tournaments, pictures from shows, karaoke, open mic, comedy night and other events, and whatever else comes up.  Thanks for all of our bar patrons for making Sweetwater Bar and Grill the place where Duluth, Lawrenceville, and all of Gwinnett come for cold drinks and good times!

A passing of the torch…

To all of the supporters of local original music at Sweetwater LIVE,

It is with both extreme excitement and sadness that I officially announce that I am stepping down from my responsibilities as booking and promotion manager of live music at Sweetwater Bar and Grill.  Taking my place is Open Mic Thursday host, Sunday night acoustic performer, and good friend Taymin Rainey, whose unwavering passion for the local music scene has been an inspiration to me, as well as countless others.  I have the upmost faith that he will not only fill my shoes admirably, but will take both Sweetwater LIVE and the metro-Atlanta scene to new levels.  For any bands that have worked with us before, you can contact Taymin for booking on Facebook, via email at, or through his cell phone at 404-399-0073.  New bands can go to and fill out the online submission form, which will be forwarded and reviewed by Taymin.  Please be patient as he settles into the routine and responsibilities of this job, thanks!

My decision is based solely on a desire to spend more time with my wife LD and two-year-old daughter Ella, as the ownership, management and staff of Sweetwater continues to be the standard in how to run a fun bar with class and consistency.  I will still be hosting Mr. Smokey’s Karaoke every Tuesday and Wednesday night, so I encourage anyone to come hang out with my rambunctious crew of misfits… and, hell, maybe even sing some Misfits!  I can’t express enough the appreciation I have for the musicians who give everything they have to their craft, and it has been a pleasure to be a small part of helping them flourish.  Lastly, and just as importantly, thank you to the music fans who have allowed me to be part of this industry for over a decade, we ALL owe everything to you.

With a heavy heart and much love,

Jesse Busch
